While
playing dress up with mommy’s accessories, applying
her make-up, and wearing her oversized pumps, Neary Ngoy felt
like a beautiful adolescent at an early age of eight. Born
in San Francisco, Ca and raised in Long Beach, Ca, she never
imagined her-self becoming a model. In the Cambodian culture,
girls and even young women could never wear revealing clothing
let alone pose in a bikini for others to see. It was seen
as a major disgrace to the entire family, especially for their
parents. Neary is considered second generation in her family
that has become americanized but hasn’t forgotten her
roots. Her parents are originally from Cambodia with an Eastern
culture. She was brought up with very strict family tradition
where people are polite, everyone must respect the elderly,
and morale is very important.
Despite being raised in a strict culture, Neary felt it is
necessary to break out of the shell she had been in for over
20 years. Her close peers seemed to be making something of
themselves, why couldn’t she have as much success if
not more? In February of 2005, she started her very first
collection of professional photographs with Eric Buker, (www.dreameproductions.com)
a great photographer with a plethora of ideas for styles of
shoots. From that one photo shoot, she also met a young lady
named Teary Peou, (www.tearymakeup.com)
who does exceptional make-up. You will see some of her work
on Neary as you browse through the site. Posing is very important
to Neary because it shows the viewer feelings and emotion
through photos. She loves to focus on sexy, classy, on the
edge photographs and has been working with Jimmy (www.luminousimpression.com)
to create artistic photos. Neary is fairly new to the modeling
industry, but her creative spirit and positive energy will
take her further than she could have ever imagined
Neary’s influences includes God, her parents, and close
friends. Boretta is her main influence in pursuing a modeling
career. He is an up and coming artist from the West Coast.
Boretta’s motivation, positive energy, and great passion
for music significantly influenced Neary to basically be a
“Go Getter”. If you want it, you have to make
it happen, but be ready. As Boretta always says “Make
Moves”.
When its relaxation time, Neary loves to hang out at home
with her family and cozy up in sweats and a tank top. It’s
usually a blockbuster night at home with good food and family
time. Food is number one on her favorite list! Although cooking
may not be a fun thing to do, she can surely cook up an authentic
Cambodian dish that will leave you feeling satisfied. When
she’s out, her favorite thing to do is go to social
gatherings such as barbeques, reunions, birthdays….etc…or
go to different clubs and restaurants for the night scene
with friends or her significant other. As you can already
tell she’s family oriented; Neary is a very down to
earth and humble person.
